These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of cleaning services by Catford Cleaner to residential and commercial customers within its operating area in the United Kingdom. By booking or using any cleaning service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions shall have the following meanings:
Client means any individual, company or organisation that requests or receives services from Catford Cleaner.
Company means Catford Cleaner, providing cleaning services within its service area in the UK.
Services means any cleaning or related services provided by the Company, including but not limited to regular domestic cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, deep cleaning, office cleaning, and one-off cleaning.
Cleaner means any employee, subcontractor or representative engaged by the Company to perform the Services.
Premises means the property or properties where the Services are carried out.
The Company provides cleaning services as agreed with the Client during the booking process. The exact scope, frequency and duration of the Services will be confirmed in the booking confirmation. Any tasks not expressly agreed before the commencement of work may be refused or may incur additional charges.
The Company will use reasonable endeavours to allocate the same Cleaner to regular Clients, but this cannot be guaranteed. The Company reserves the right to change Cleaners or reallocate work at its discretion.
The Services will be performed during normal working hours unless otherwise agreed. Access to the Premises must be made available by the Client at the agreed time. If the Cleaner is unable to gain access, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and charges may apply as set out in these Terms.
Bookings can be requested by the Client through the Companys accepted booking channels. By submitting a booking request, the Client confirms that they are legally capable of entering into a binding contract and that they are at least 18 years old.
All bookings are subject to acceptance by the Company. A booking is only confirmed when the Company issues a written or electronic confirmation specifying the date, time, estimated duration, and price of the Services. The Company reserves the right to refuse any booking request at its sole discretion.
The Client is responsible for providing accurate information during the booking process, including property size, condition, specific requirements and any access restrictions. If the information provided is incomplete or inaccurate, the Company may adjust the quoted price, change the duration of the visit, or cancel the booking.
For certain Services, including but not limited to end of tenancy and deep cleaning, the Company may require photographs, an inventory or a description of the Premises to assess the scope of work. The Company may also recommend an on-site assessment before confirming the final price.
Prices for Services are based on the information supplied by the Client and may be calculated on an hourly rate, a fixed rate, or a combination of both. The applicable rate or fixed fee will be stated in the booking confirmation.
Any quotation provided by the Company is an estimate only, based on the information given at the time. If upon arrival the Premises are significantly different from the description, in size, condition or required tasks, the Company reserves the right to revise the quotation or decline to provide the Services.
All prices are given in pounds sterling. Any applicable taxes, levies or charges legally required will be included in the final price where relevant.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for Services is due on the day of service. The Company may require full or partial payment in advance for some services, including one-off cleans, deep cleans or end of tenancy cleans.
Accepted payment methods and timelines will be communicated during the booking process. The Client is responsible for ensuring that payment is made in full and on time. If payment is not received when due, the Company reserves the right to suspend or cancel further Services and to charge interest on overdue amounts at the statutory rate until payment is received in full.
Where Services are provided on a recurring basis, payment terms may be set on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly cycle. Any change to such arrangements must be agreed in advance with the Company.
The Client shall not withhold payment due to dissatisfaction with the Services without first giving the Company a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, rectify any issues.
The Client may cancel or amend a booking by giving the Company adequate notice. Unless otherwise stated in writing, the minimum notice period is 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the Services.
If the Client cancels or reschedules a booking with less than the required notice period, the Company reserves the right to charge a late cancellation fee up to the full value of the booked Services. This is to cover costs associated with reserving the time slot and assigning a Cleaner.
If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if the Client fails to provide the necessary instructions or keys, this may be treated as a late cancellation and charges may apply.
The Company reserves the right to cancel or amend any booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to staff illness, transport disruption, adverse weather, safety concerns or operational issues. In such cases, the Company will notify the Client as soon as reasonably possible and will offer an alternative appointment or a refund for any Services not provided.
The Client must provide a safe working environment and ensure that the Premises are reasonably accessible. All necessary utilities, including water and electricity, must be available during the visit. If these are not available, the Company may be unable to perform the Services and may treat the visit as a late cancellation.
The Client must ensure that all valuable, fragile or sentimental items are safely stored prior to the Cleaner attending. The Company accepts no responsibility for items that are not adequately secured or that are left in places that are not reasonably visible to the Cleaner.
The Client must inform the Company of any health and safety risks, hazards, special requirements or restricted areas at the Premises. This includes information about alarms, security systems, pets, delicate surfaces, and any materials or finishes requiring special treatment.
Where keys or access devices are supplied to the Company, the Client is responsible for ensuring that they are clearly labelled but do not show the full address of the Premises. The Company will take reasonable care to safeguard keys but accepts no liability for any loss arising from labelling or identification provided by the Client.
The Company aims to provide Services using reasonable care and skill in line with professional cleaning practices. If the Client is not satisfied with the quality of the Services, they must notify the Company as soon as possible, and in any event within 24 hours of the Services being carried out, so that the Company has the opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.
Where a complaint is upheld and it is practical to do so, the Company may arrange for the Cleaner to re-attend the Premises to re-clean the specific areas of concern at no additional cost. This shall be the Clients sole and exclusive remedy for any alleged defect in the Services, except where otherwise required by law.
The Company will not accept complaints that arise from circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to general wear and tear, ingrained dirt or stains that cannot be removed with reasonable cleaning methods, pre-existing damage, or the use of unsuitable materials or surfaces at the Premises.
The Company holds appropriate insurance for public liability and, where applicable, for its employees. Details of insurance cover can be provided upon request.
The Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or loss of enjoyment arising out of or in connection with the provision of the Services.
The Company will not be liable for any loss or damage to items that are not reasonably accessible, that are fragile, that have pre-existing damage, or that are not suitable for cleaning with standard products and methods. This includes, without limitation, items such as loose or unsecured fixtures, brittle ornaments, unsecured mirrors, and items not designed to withstand moisture or cleaning agents.
The Companys total liability to the Client in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with the Services, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall be limited to the total price paid or payable for the specific visit during which the event giving rise to the claim occurred, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit the Companys liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
In the rare event that damage or breakage is caused by a Cleaner, the Client must notify the Company in writing as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any event within 24 hours of the incident. The Company reserves the right to inspect the damage and, where appropriate, to repair the item, replace it with a similar item, or offer fair compensation.
The Company shall not be responsible for the cost of repairing any pre-existing faults or damage discovered during the course of the Services. The Company may take photographs or notes for insurance and record-keeping purposes.
The Company complies with applicable UK regulations in relation to waste management and environmental protection. The Client is responsible for ensuring that general household or commercial waste is suitably contained and that any hazardous or prohibited materials are not presented for removal or cleaning.
Unless expressly agreed as part of the Services, the Company does not remove large quantities of waste, bulky items, construction debris, clinical waste, controlled substances or any materials subject to special disposal regulations. If such materials are discovered, the Cleaner may refuse to handle them and the Company may terminate or adjust the Services.
Where waste is collected as part of the Services, it will be disposed of in accordance with applicable UK laws and local regulations. The Client shall not request or permit the Cleaner to dispose of waste in a manner that would breach waste disposal regulations or environmental legislation.
The Company may provide cleaning products and equipment as part of the Services. If the Client chooses to supply their own products or equipment, they are responsible for ensuring that such products are safe, suitable for the intended surfaces, and in good working order.
The Company reserves the right to refuse the use of any product or equipment that it considers unsafe or unsuitable. The Company will not be responsible for any damage or adverse effects caused by products or equipment supplied by the Client.
The Client must ensure that any pets are safely secured and that the Premises are free from unacceptable health and safety risks, including exposure to hazardous substances, dangerous machinery, or unsafe structures.
The Company will handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom. Client details are used solely for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering Services, handling payments and communicating with the Client.
The Company will treat information about the Client and the Premises as confidential and will not disclose it to third parties except as required to provide the Services, as required by law, or as necessary to protect its legal rights.
For regular or recurring Services, either party may terminate the arrangement by providing reasonable notice, typically not less than 14 days, unless otherwise agreed. Termination must be communicated through the same channels used for booking or any other method agreed between the parties.
The Company reserves the right to terminate or suspend Services with immediate effect if the Client fails to pay any sum due, behaves abusively or unreasonably towards the Cleaner or the Company, breaches these Terms and Conditions, or creates an unsafe environment at the Premises.
The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, regulation, industry practice or operational requirements. The most recent version will apply to all new bookings and to ongoing Services after notice has been given to the Client where required.
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by any court or competent authority, such provision shall be severed from the remaining Terms, which shall continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
These Terms and Conditions, together with any booking confirmation or written agreement between the Company and the Client, constitute the entire agreement between the parties in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, representations or understandings, whether written or oral.
